BELGRADE, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Serbia and China have signed an agreement to expand joint academic initiatives, including plans to establish a joint agricultural laboratory, the Serbian Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation said in a press release on Friday.
The agreement was signed between China's Shandong Agricultural University and the Faculty of Agriculture of University of Novi Sad, with the presence of Serbian Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Bela Balint.
According to the press release, the agreement will focus on practical, results-oriented initiatives, particularly in boosting agricultural productivity and contributing to poverty reduction.
Balint reaffirmed the Serbian government's commitment to advancing cooperation with Chinese academic institutions, highlighting the growing momentum of bilateral ties, the press release said.
Meanwhile, the Chinese delegation noted that academic cooperation between Serbian and Chinese universities has intensified in recent years, yielding tangible and mutually beneficial results, the press release added. ■
