MOSCOW, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Russia is deeply concerned over the uncontrolled escalation of the Middle East conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said Thursday.
Zakharova told a press briefing that the military adventure by the United States and Israel against Iran has destabilized the entire Middle East region.
She noted that the conflict has expanded beyond Iran, causing grave humanitarian consequences.
The spokesperson called for an immediate halt to the military actions which threaten a catastrophe, including environmental and radiological, for the entire region, and return to the search for diplomatic solutions. ■
