WARSAW, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Polish President Karol Nawrocki on Tuesday highlighted the strong technological and economic potential in cooperation with Sweden, according to the Polish Press Agency.
Nawrocki made the remarks at a press conference following his talks with visiting Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf, which the Polish president said focused on security in the Baltic Sea region and cooperation within frameworks such as the European Union, NATO and the Council of the Baltic Sea States.
Stressing that the king's first visit to Poland in 15 years reflects the excellent state of bilateral relations, Nawrocki said that around 700 Swedish companies operate in Poland and that bilateral trade has increasingly grown and reached 14.5 billion euros (about 16.8 billion U.S. dollars) in 2024.
For his part, the king said further strengthening Poland-Sweden ties is key to addressing common threats and ensuring the security of the Baltic Sea. ■
