MOSCOW, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 185 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday.
The ministry further said the drones were shot down over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Krasnodar, Kursk, Rostov, Samara and Saratov regions, Crimea, as well as over the waters of the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea.
Russia also intercepted and destroyed 36 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones between 4 p.m. (1300 GMT) and 8 p.m. (1700 GMT) local time on Tuesday, it said.
Separately, governor of Russia's Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz said Tuesday that six people were killed and 37 others injured in a missile strike in the border region, noting that all the injured have been taken to the regional hospital. ■
