MOSCOW, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Russian air defense downed six drones heading toward Moscow on Sunday, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
"Emergency services personnel are working at the site where the drone debris fell," Sobyanin said on Telegram.
Temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures were imposed for flight safety reasons, and were later lifted at Moscow's Zhukovsky Airport, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency said.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said the on-duty air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 170 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Moscow time. ■
