ZAGREB, March 3 (Xinhua) -- Consumer prices in Croatia rose by 3.8 percent in February compared with the same month last year, according to a preliminary estimate released on Tuesday by the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (CBS).
According to CBS, services recorded the highest year-on-year increase in February, rising by 7.7 percent. Energy prices went up 4.3 percent, while food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 3.6 percent.
Inflation in Croatia remained the second highest in the eurozone in February, trailing only Slovakia, where the rate stood at 4 percent.
The inflation rate accelerated from 3.4 percent in January and 3.3 percent in December, returning to the level recorded in November, when it also stood at 3.8 percent, according to the CBS. ■
