KIEV, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The time and place of the next meeting of the teams of Ukraine, the United States and Russia will be determined depending on the security circumstances and real diplomatic opportunities, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Saturday.
"Depending on the security situation and real diplomatic possibilities, the time and place of the next meeting of our team and the U.S. team -- the meeting with the Russians -- will be determined," he said in a video address.
Zelensky noted that he has issued updated directives to the Ukrainian negotiating team and the broader Ukrainian diplomatic team. "Peace is needed -- true peace -- and a real possibility for people to live freely and to live safely," he emphasized.
The Ukrainian president also stated that the Ukrainian side is continuing preparations for the trilateral meeting, whenever that may take place.
As Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported, Zelensky said Thursday that the next trilateral meeting could take place in early March in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
The Ukrainian, Russian and U.S. delegations previously held two rounds of talks in Abu Dhabi in January and February, followed by another round in Geneva earlier this month. ■
