HELSINKI, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Sweden's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 1.5 percent in 2025, Statistics Sweden (SCB) reported on Friday.
In the fourth quarter, GDP rose 2.1 percent from a year earlier and increased 0.5 percent from the previous quarter, SCB said.
The quarterly growth rate eased slightly from the third quarter but was broadly in line with expectations, Swedish news agency TT reported. In the July-September period, GDP expanded 0.8 percent from the previous quarter.
Exports fell 1.2 percent in the fourth quarter from the third quarter, while imports were broadly unchanged, SCB said. Compared with the same period of 2024, exports rose 2 percent and imports increased 3.3 percent.
Jessica Engdahl, head of section at the National Accounts at SCB, said GDP continued to rise in the final quarter, mainly due to a sharp increase in central government expenditure. Household consumption also grew, while declining exports offset part of the expansion, she said. ■
