MOSCOW, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia's gross domestic product grew by 1 percent in 2025, with cumulative growth exceeding 10 percent over the past three years despite mounting external challenges, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Wednesday.
Presenting the government's annual report to the State Duma (lower house of parliament), Mishustin noted that the country's labor market remains stable, with unemployment holding at a low level of 2.2 percent.
He said that inflation declined to 5.6 percent in 2025, with efforts continuing to curb price growth.
The minimum wage increased 16.5 percent in 2025, the prime minister said, noting that another 20 percent increase to 27,000 rubles (about 350 U.S. dollars) is planned in 2026.
The increase, ensuring employers cannot pay workers below the established minimum level, affected more than 4.5 million people, helping to improve living standards nationwide, Mishustin said. ■
