MOSCOW, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Russian forces have taken control of the village of Rizdvyanka in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian Ministry of Defense said Tuesday.
According to the ministry, over the past 24 hours, units of the Russian Armed Forces carried out strikes on 154 targets, including Ukraine's transport and energy infrastructure facilities, drone storage and launch preparation sites, as well as temporary deployment areas of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries.
Russian air defense systems shot down six guided aerial bombs, six rockets of the U.S.-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and 380 fixed-wing drones, it added.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a board meeting of the Federal Security Service that it is essential to fully utilize the agency's human and technical resources, as well as its operational and analytical capabilities, to neutralize potential threats, protect national interests and ensure Russia's stable development. ■
