BUCHAREST, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- A minibus carrying 16 people overturned on a snow-covered road in southern Romania on Saturday, injuring one passenger, local authorities said.
The 55-year-old driver from Ilfov county was driving the vehicle along the DN5 national road toward Giurgiu when the minibus veered off the roadway and overturned outside the locality of Daia, police said.
A 55-year-old woman from Ilfov was injured and transported to the hospital.
Emergency crews from Giurgiu and Bucharest-Ilfov rushed to the scene for rescue.
Authorities said that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
Snowfall in parts of southern Romania on Saturday created hazardous driving conditions, prompting the police to urge motorists to exercise caution. ■
