MOSCOW, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- The number of foreign tourists visiting Russia hit 4.8 million in 2025, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said Tuesday.
"Inbound tourism has seen substantial growth. Around 4.8 million foreign tourists travelled to Russia, marking a 15 percent year-on-year increase compared to 2024," he said.
The Association of Tour Operators of Russia noted earlier that Russia's top five tourist source markets in 2025 were China, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Türkiye and Germany.
Chernyshenko added that for the 2025-2026 winter tourism season, spanning November 2025 to March 2026, the total number of tourist trips throughout Russia is projected to climb to 33.7 million. ■
