NEW YORK, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Mexico international winger Jorge Ruvalcaba has joined New York Red Bulls after parting ways with Pumas UNAM, the MLS club said on Monday.
The California-born 24-year-old signed a deal that runs until June 2030 after the Red Bulls agreed to a transfer fee reportedly worth 6.5 million U.S. dollars.
"We are very excited to welcome Jorge to our club," head of sport Julian de Guzman said. "He is a dynamic, creative attacker who has shown great potential and a strong work ethic, and we are confident that he will contribute to our success both on and off the field."
Ruvalcaba made 99 appearances across all competitions for Pumas after being promoted from the Mexican club's youth academy in 2022.
He earned his first Mexico cap in a 2-1 friendly defeat to Paraguay last November.
The Red Bulls will begin their 2026 MLS campaign with an away clash against Orlando City on February 21. ■
