MOSCOW, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said Tuesday that it has detained three people suspected of planning a terrorist attack on a transport infrastructure facility in the Sverdlovsk region.
The suspects, all Russian citizens, were attempting to set fire to a railway, the FSB said in a statement.
Searches conducted at their residences led to the seizure of communication devices containing correspondence with their handler, as well as instructions and components for making improvised incendiary devices, the statement said.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated on charges of preparing a terrorist act, according to the FSB. ■
