ST. PETERSBURG, Jan. 28 (Xinhua) -- Russia has completed certification flights for Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft in full, Russia's state-owned technology corporation Rostec said on Wednesday.
"All certification flights have been completed in full. All necessary documents have been submitted to the Federal Air Transport Agency. The type certificate is expected to be obtained in the near future," Rostec was quoted by RIA Novosti as saying in a statement.
Rostec added that the first deliveries of the aircraft could begin as early as 2026.
Designed primarily for regional and local air routes, the Il-114-300 is a modernized version of the Il-114 turboprop aircraft. It is intended to replace aging An-24 planes on domestic routes, as well as foreign-made aircraft of a similar class. ■
