MOSCOW, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Electricity supply to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been restored through two high-voltage external power lines, Russia's state nuclear corporation Rosatom said Monday.

According to a statement by Rosatom Director General Alexey Likhachev, power supply to the plant has been resumed via the Ferosplavna-1 line, alongside the Dniprovska line.

Likhachev said the Ferosplavna-1 line was disconnected on Jan. 2 due to the activation of automatic protection systems, leaving the plant reliant on a single external power line.

Repair work began on Sunday morning and was made possible by agreements on a temporary ceasefire, the statement said.

Rosatom said the plant's internal power needs are now fully supplied through both external lines, which significantly improves the reliability of power supply to the facility.
