ANKARA, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised on Monday Türkiye's growth rate forecast to 4.2 percent for 2026 and 4.1 percent for 2027, according to an update to its World Economic Outlook.

In its October forecast last year, the IMF had predicted that Türkiye's economy would grow by 3.7 percent this year and next.

In the latest update, the IMF slightly upgraded its global growth forecast in 2026 to 3.3 percent, 0.2 percentage points higher from its projection in October 2025.

It forecast Türkiye's 2025 growth rate will stand at 4.1 percent.

In December last year, Türkiye's Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said the country's economy was on track to expand by around 3.7 percent in 2025.
