PRAGUE, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Two people, including a gunman, were killed and six others injured on Monday in a shooting in the town of Chribska, northern Czech Republic, local police said on social media platform X.
After the incident at the town hall, police said the shooter had been killed, and the building is now safe.
"Currently, there is no indication of any terrorist or extremist motive," the police said in a follow-up post on X. "Everything indicates that it is a relationship-based motive."
The police confirmed two fatalities: a male victim and the gunman. Among the six injured, one woman was in serious condition.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis described the incident as a "tragic event" while expressing his condolences. ■
