MOSCOW, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Russian forces have seized control of the settlement of Novoboikovskoye in the Zaporizhzhia region, Russia's Ministry of Defense said on Monday.
Groups of the Russian Armed Forces used operational-tactical aircraft, strike drones, missile troops, and artillery to strike 157 locations, the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry added that its forces have struck and disabled energy and transport infrastructure facilities supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF).
"Targets included energy and transport infrastructure serving the UAF, military airfields, enterprises producing and storing long-range drones, as well as temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian military formations and foreign mercenaries," it added.
Separately, the ministry noted that Russia's air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 52 fixed-wing drones, five guided aerial bombs, and four U.S.-made HIMARS rockets over the past 24 hours. ■
