MOSCOW, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian drone strikes killed one person and injured four others in Russia's border region of Belgorod, regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said Tuesday.
The victim was struck by a drone while driving in the Volokonovsky district, Gladkov said, adding that another person in the same vehicle was injured and hospitalized.
Several other separate drone attacks, also targeting vehicles, injured three more people in different parts of the region, he said.
Earlier in the day, the Russian defense ministry said air defense systems intercepted and destroyed three U.S.-made HIMARS multiple rocket launchers and 18 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day. ■
