MOSCOW, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- The Russian government has allocated additional funding to support the social development of key economic growth centers in the country's Far East, according to an official statement released on Sunday.
A government order approved the allocation of an additional 280.1 million rubles (3.6 million U.S. dollars) by the end of 2025 for the implementation of social development plans in regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
The funding will be directed to the Republic of Sakha and Primorsky Krai, the statement said.
More than 111 billion rubles (1.4 billion U.S. dollars) have been earmarked in the federal budget for 2026-2028 to further advance social and economic development across Russia's Far Eastern regions.
Since 2018, the federal government has regularly co-financed social development plans for economic growth centers in the Far East under instructions from President Vladimir Putin, it added. ■
