MOSCOW, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- A traffic accident in Russia's Omsk Oblast left at least six people dead and eight injured, local police said on Saturday.
According to the regional department of the Interior Ministry, preliminary findings showed that a Volvo truck traveling toward the city of Omsk on the R-402 highway crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with a PAZ passenger bus operating on the Omsk-Krutinka route.
The initial collision triggered a chain reaction involving a Toyota car, two Kamaz trucks and the Volvo, the police said.
Law enforcement officials said the bus driver later died from injuries while being transported in an ambulance. Five bus passengers were killed at the scene before medical services arrived. ■
