ZAGREB, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- A shooting on Thursday night in the Medjimurje County in northern Croatia has left one woman dead and another fighting for life in the hospital, the county police said in a statement on Friday.
The police received an emergency call at 20:53 (19:53 GMT). Upon arrival at the scene, they found that at a home on the Sitnice Street, a 40-year-old man shot a 28-year-old and a 29-year-old woman before running away, said the statement, cited by the Croatian Radiotelevision.
The two were rushed to the Cakovec Hospital nearby. After attempted resuscitation, the 28-year-old woman died, while the 29-year-old remained in a critical condition, it said. ■
