ISTANBUL, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Fitch Ratings has raised its 2025 growth forecast for Türkiye to 3.8 percent, up from the previously announced 3.5 percent, according to the agency's latest Global Economic Outlook report, as cited by state broadcaster TRT on Friday.
The report said Türkiye's economy is still expected to expand by 3.5 percent in 2026 and 4.2 percent in 2027.
According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute on Monday, the Turkish economy grew 3.7 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, following growth of 4.9 percent in the second quarter and 2.5 percent in the first.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the strong performance in the third quarter continued the country's upward growth trajectory, positioning Türkiye as the fourth-fastest-growing economy among OECD members.
Addressing lawmakers in parliament in Ankara on Wednesday, Erdogan noted that the economy has been expanding for 21 consecutive quarters. ■
