YEREVAN, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Armenia and the European Union signed the "Armenia-EU Partnership Strategic Agenda" to deepen bilateral cooperation in various areas, the Armenian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.

The document, adopted Tuesday within the framework of the 6th Armenia-EU Partnership Council, outlines political, economic and security goals, said the ministry.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said the agenda complements the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and elevates the partnership agenda to a strategic level.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas emphasized that the agenda expands cooperation into new fields, including reforms, rule of law, economic modernization, security and visa liberalization.

According to the ministry, key priorities in the strategic agenda include strengthening Armenia's democratic development, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and socio-economic resilience.
