MOSCOW, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Russia's oil and gas revenues fell sharply in November, declining 33.8 percent year on year to 530.9 billion rubles (6.8 billion U.S. dollars), TASS news agency reported on Wednesday.

According to calculations based on data released by the Russian Finance Ministry, TASS said that on a month-on-month basis, November oil and gas revenues dropped 40.2 percent from 888.6 billion rubles (11.4 billion dollars) in October.

TASS said that the monthly decline was largely due to the collection of additional profit tax, amounting to 327.8 billion rubles (4.2 billion dollars) in October. The levy is collected on a quarterly basis.

From January to November, Russia's oil and gas revenues totaled 8.029 trillion rubles (103.4 billion dollars), 21.4 percent less than the same period last year.
