SARAJEVO, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- Senior defense officials of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Austria reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral defense cooperation during consultations held Wednesday in Sarajevo.
BiH's Ministry of Defense announced in a press release that the two sides highlighted the significant role of Austrian troops within the EU Force (EUFOR) in BiH and stressed the importance of continued expert exchanges in various areas of defense.
Discussions covered future cooperation within the regional "Graz-Krems" format, military heritage, and arms control seminars organized jointly with the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research.
The "Graz-Krems" format is a regional defense cooperation mechanism initiated by Austria, bringing together Austria and Western Balkan countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Albania. ■
