BRUSSELS, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The eurozone's annual inflation rate stood at 2.1 percent in October, down from 2.2 percent in September, according to a flash estimate released on Friday by Eurostat.
Services recorded the highest annual rate in October at 3.4 percent, up from 3.2 percent the previous month.
Meanwhile, food, alcohol and tobacco rose 2.5 percent year-on-year, down from 3.0 percent in September.
Inflation for non-energy industrial goods was 0.6 percent in October, down from 0.8 percent, while energy prices fell 1.0 percent year on year, compared with a 0.4 percent decline in September. Core inflation was 2.4 percent, unchanged from September.
Among the countries reporting data for the flash estimate, Estonia posted the highest inflation rate at 4.5 percent, down from 5.3 percent in September. Cyprus recorded the lowest rate at 0.3 percent, down from zero inflation the previous month. ■
