MINSK, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- The 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security kicked off in the Belarusian capital here on Tuesday, with representatives and experts from over 40 countries and regions as well as seven international organizations expected to discuss pressing issues of regional and global stability during the two-day event.

While opening the conference, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stressed the need for collective efforts to build a secure Eurasian space based on mutual respect and cooperation, while criticizing a unipolar world order as a threat to global stability.

He also called on participants to reject confrontational policies and prioritize diplomacy over sanctions.

At the conference, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto underscored the value of regional partnerships in addressing migration and economic security, urging inclusive approaches that benefit all stakeholders.

The conference, organized by the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, aims to analyze current trends in international relations and explore pathways to a security architecture rooted in equality, indivisibility, mutual respect, enhanced dialogue, trust-building measures and conflict prevention.
