MOSCOW, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- Air passenger traffic on international routes in Russia's Far East increased by 90 percent in 2024, Russia's Ministry of Transport said Thursday.
According to the ministry, in the first eight months of 2025, the passenger traffic rose by 29 percent from the same period last year, with the main growth registered in the cities of Vladivostok, Khabarovsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Interest in Russia's Far East is actively increasing from foreign airlines, the ministry said, adding that the country is working to raise its aviation mobility by 50 percent by 2030.
Air transport subsidy programs are being implemented in the Far East to support regional flights, a unified Far Eastern airline, and passengers from socially vulnerable groups, the ministry said. ■
