ISTANBUL, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye's first humanitarian aid convoy since the latest ceasefire arrived in Gaza on Monday, including 17 trucks of food and three trucks of blankets and tents.

The aid was organized by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority in cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent and other non-governmental organizations, said the Turkish presidential office.

The stuff was delivered to Gaza through Egypt's Karem Abu Salem border crossing after being transported from the Sinai Peninsula city of El Arish, the office said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a speech on Sunday that aid deliveries to Gaza had been accelerated since the ceasefire.

Erdogan emphasized that the ceasefire did not mark the end of challenges, warning that Israel must uphold its ceasefire commitments and must not backtrack as it had done before. Additionally, he called for a swift reconstruction of Gaza.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect on Friday after three days of talks in Sharm el-Sheikh mediated by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye and the United States.
