BELGRADE, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The 12th International Arms and Defense Equipment Fair "Partner 2025" opened in Belgrade, Serbia, on Tuesday.

The event attracted a record 200 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, including leading European and global defense companies, according to the Ministry of Defense. Major European participants include France's Safran and Thales, the Czech Republic's Aero Vodochody and Ceska Zbrojovka, as well as Switzerland's B&T AG.

At the opening ceremony, Serbian Prime Minister Djuro Macut said the defense industry plays an important role in the national economy and has gained strong momentum in recent years, placing Serbia back on the map of global arms and military equipment producers. He added that the strong presence of foreign exhibitors highlights openness and opportunities for cooperation in the sector.

The fair will run until Sept. 26, showcasing Serbian and international innovations in combat platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), communications, and logistics systems.
