LONDON, July 17 (Xinhua) -- One child has died after a bus carrying school pupils crashed Thursday afternoon on a rural road in Exmoor, Somerset, in southwest England, according to police.
A number of passengers have been taken to hospital with serious injuries, including two children, police said.
Between 60 and 70 people were travelling on the coach when it overturned and slid down an embankment at around 15:00 p.m. (1400 GMT).
The Secretary of State for Education Bridget Phillipson said on the social media platform X that she was "shocked and saddened" to hear of the incident.
An investigation into the cause of the incident will be carried out, according to police. ■
