MOSCOW, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Russia's trade turnover with friendly countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America has increased by 1.5 times in the past four years, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday.
"Trade turnover with friendly countries, with Asia, Africa and Latin America, has increased by about 1.5 times over the past four years," Mishustin said.
He noted that as a result of sanctions, Russia is rebuilding all major trade routes. For example, the North-South corridor is being expanded to increase the accessibility of promising markets. To ensure greater connectivity between regions, the road network and passenger transport services are being developed.
According to official data released by the Russian Federal Customs Service, Russian foreign trade turnover reached 213.9 billion U.S. dollars in the first four months of the year, while Asian countries leading as Russia's main trading partners in January-April with 97.6 billion dollars exports and 57.5 billion dollars imports. ■
