LONDON, May 12 (Xinhua) -- A power outage struck the London Underground, causing widespread travel disruptions across the capital on Monday afternoon, Transport for London (TfL) confirmed.
TfL confirmed that the disruption affected multiple parts of the network. Major lines including the entire Bakerloo, Waterloo and City were suspended, while others were suffering severe delays and part suspensions.
A spokesman for TfL said there was an outage in southwest London and "everything shut down" due to a "National Grid issue."
"Some people would have probably been stuck in a tunnel for a little bit of time," the spokesman said.
TfL said it is currently working to restore services and bring the network back online. ■
