PARIS, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- A small private plane crashed on Friday in the southern French department of Val, the French news channel BFMTV reported.
It said the incident happened around 5 p.m. local time (15h00 GMT) in Le Lavandou.
BFMTV reported that the pilot was inside the aircraft at the time of the crash, and the plane was scheduled to participate in an air show.
The rescue operation is underway. ■
