VILNIUS, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- A recent study showed that the average wage growth in the information technology (IT) sector in the Baltics has slowed this year compared with 2023.

The study conducted by Figure Baltic Advisory, a leading labor market research and consulting agency in the Baltics, found that wage growth in the IT sector is, on average, 8.6 percent this year, compared with 12.8 percent last year.

The study has also identified other signs of a market cooldown. Wage margins indicated in job postings are approaching market averages, whereas several years ago, new employees were often offered pay that was 20-30 percent above the average.

Wages increased the fastest for junior project managers, junior programmers, data analysts, information security and human resource managers.

The study carried out in June analyzed wage data of 18,000 information and communication technology employees.
