MOSCOW, Feb. 15 (Xinhua) -- Five people were killed and 18 others injured as a result of a Ukrainian missile attack on Russia's Belgorod, regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said Thursday.
"According to preliminary data, five people were killed in Belgorod, including one child, another 18 people were injured, five of them children," Gladkov wrote on his Telegram channel.
A local shopping center, which houses a grocery store and a pharmacy, was severely damaged as a result of the missile attack by the Ukrainian armed forces, Russia's RIA Novosti news agency said in an earlier report.
According to Russia's Ministry of Defense, the Russian air defense shot down 14 RM-70 Vampire MLRS missiles over the Belgorod region. ■
