MOSCOW, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Four candidates will be on the ballot during the upcoming presidential elections in Russia, head of the Russian Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova said on Thursday.
"As a result of our meeting today, there is complete clarity that there will be four candidates on the ballot," Pamfilova noted during a meeting of the CEC.
The CEC has to date registered four candidates that will run for president in the upcoming elections, namely incumbent Russian President Vladimir Putin; leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Leonid Slutsky; Vladislav Davankov, nominated by the country's New People Party; and Nikolai Kharitonov, nominated by the Russian Communist Party.
The Russian presidential elections will be held from March 15 to 17. ■
