VILNIUS, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Between January and October this year, the value of Lithuania's exports and imports fell by 9.6 percent to 33.159 billion euros (35.6 billion U.S. dollars) and by 13.8 percent to 37.489 billion euros, respectively, Statistics Lithuania said on Friday.

In the first ten months of 2023, the country's international trade in goods deficit totaled 4.329 billion euros, it said.

Exports of Lithuanian-made goods alone totaled 20.381 billion euros in the ten-month period, down by 10.8 percent compared to last year.

The decline in exports was due to mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products, ground vehicles, and machinery and mechanical equipment.

Imports were driven down by mineral fuels, mineral oils and their distillation products, fertilizers, and machinery and mechanical appliances.

In January-October 2023, Lithuania's most important export destinations were Latvia, Poland and Germany, and its top import partners were Germany, Poland and Latvia. (1 euro = 1.07 U.S. dollar)
