BELGRADE, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- Montenegro's parliament on Tuesday elected the country's 44th government headed by Milojko Spajic, an economist and leader of the pro-Western Europe Now Movement, the biggest party in the parliament.

The government of 36-year-old Spajic, consisting of five deputy prime ministers and 19 ministers, got the support of 46 out of 81 Members of Parliament at a session starting late on Monday and lasting the whole night in the capital of Podgorica.

The new government pledged to accelerate the country's accession to the European Union, reform the judiciary and boost living standards.

Spajic's party won 24 seats in the snap parliamentary elections held on June 11 and has the majority needed to form a coalition government.

On Aug. 10, Spajic was designated by Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic to become the next prime minister.
