ATHENS, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Foreign direct investment projects in Greece increased by 57 percentage in 2022, according to a survey presented in Athens this week.

Ernst & Young's (EY) "Attractiveness Survey Greece 2023" report, revealed at the 6th InvestGR Forum 2023 held in the Greek capital on Tuesday and Wednesday, shows that Greece is an increasingly attractive destination for investments.

A total of 40 percent of respondents either planned to invest, or expand their activities in the country in the next year.

Meanwhile, 67 percent of the 250 company managers surveyed by EY around the world forecast that Greece's attractiveness will improve within the next three years.

The main sectors seen as attractive for investors in Greece, according to the survey, are knowledge-based activities with relatively high added value such as software and information technology services.

On the other hand, the most significant risks that could threaten Greece's overall attractiveness as an investment destination include increasing inflation, the energy crisis, social and economic instability, and the cost of labor, the survey's respondents said.

The 6th InvestGR Forum 2023 is aimed at showcasing the country's performance in attracting foreign direct investment over the past year, as well as focusing on areas for improvement.
