VIENNA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and around 20 others were injured after a bus deviated from the road and overturned in southern Austria early Tuesday morning, local police said.
According to the police, the accident happened around 4:45 a.m. (0245 GMT) near the town of Micheldorf in the state of Carinthia. A 19-year-old Austrian woman was killed. The injured have been rushed to hospital for treatment.
The double-decker bus was en route from Berlin to the Italian port city of Trieste. The 40 passengers and two drivers on board were from Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Germany and Ukraine, Austrian news agency APA quoted a police spokesperson as saying.
Investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. ■
