WARSAW, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Firefighters have brought under control a fire breaking out on Saturday afternoon in a Chinese shopping mall near Warsaw, local media reported on Sunday.
When a total of 60 fire brigades ended their fight against the fire at around 10 a.m. on Sunday, an area of up to 6,000 square meters in the mall was burnt, local television station TVN quoted Lukasz Darmofalski from the Piaseczno State Fire Service as saying.
Except one firefighter who reported respiratory and circulatory problems and was taken to hospital, no other people were injured in the incident, it reported.
The cause of the accident remains unclear.
The shopping center covers an area of 150,000 square meters and consists of six commercial halls and four warehouses. There are more than 1,000 shops selling clothing, footwear, small household appliances and other commodities made in China. ■
