PRAGUE, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and eight others injured in a traffic accident in the southern Czech Republic on Monday.
The accident happened at around 5 p.m. on the D2 motorway near Hustopec, a town south of the country's second-largest city Brno.
Two cars and a van collided, killing two people immediately, police said on social media platform X.
Local media reported that the accident happened at the site of highway maintenance work, and that the two people who had died were road workers.
Police said that traffic restrictions would continue until late in the evening. ■
