RIGA, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Poland's President Andrzej Duda made an official two-day visit to Latvia this Wednesday and Thursday to discuss regional security and support for Ukraine with his Latvian counterpart Egils Levits and other officials, local media reported.

Levits said that Poland and the Baltic states have largely been setting the political agenda of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) since the start of the conflict in Ukraine.

Duda said that the Rail Baltica railway infrastructure project, which will link Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania with Poland, is important because it will facilitate the mobility of people and will also enable the transportation of military cargo.
