RIGA, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Two months after the general election, the Parliament of Latvia on Wednesday approved the country's new three-party coalition government led by incumbent Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins.
The coalition includes Karins' center-right New Unity party, which won most of the votes in the election, the new centrist pro-business electoral alliance United List and the conservative National Alliance.
The coalition partners have agreed on the creation of a new Climate and Energy Ministry and three deputy ministerial posts. On Wednesday, representatives of the three parties signed a coalition agreement, a government declaration and a fiscal discipline agreement.
In Parliament, Karins told lawmakers that the priority areas of his new cabinet will be national security, education, energy, competitiveness and people's quality of life. ■
