ISTANBUL, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 people were wounded when a public transport bus and a tram collided in Türkiye's largest city Istanbul during the morning rush hour on Monday, local media reported.
The collision occurred while the bus was crossing the railway passage in the Eyupsultan district on the European side of the city, reported the Demiroren news agency.
Ambulances and firefighters were dispatched to the scene, and four of the injured were in critical condition, said the report.
Both the bus and the tram were filled with commuters, it said.
The crash heavily damaged the bus, and a vehicle passing on the road at the time was also damaged.
The cause of the accident was not immediately clear. ■
