FRANKFURT, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Mercedes-Benz' revenue and profits jumped in the third quarter of this year, a report published by the company on Wednesday showed.
The revenues of Mercedes-Benz, one of the leading premium-brand car makers in Germany, climbed to 37.7 billion euros in the third quarter. This was up by 19.04 percent compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the company's net profit stood at 4 billion euros, compared to 2.6 billion euros in the third quarter of 2021.
Although sales of Mercedes-Benz cars in the United States and Europe remain at almost the same level as in the previous year, the carmaker witnessed robust demand for its products in China, the company's largest sales market.
The company sold a total of 530,400 cars worldwide, up by 38.31 percent compared with the same period last year.
As part of the company's efforts to become an electric vehicle producer, it aims to build a total of eight cell factories worldwide by the end of this decade.
While supply chain disruptions and persistent inflation are still weighing on the prospects of the auto industry as a whole, Mercedes-Benz has said that the risks for the fourth quarter of 2022 have decreased. ■
