HONG KONG, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 jolted the New Britain region, Papua New Guinea at 12:34:26 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 69.012 km, was initially determined to be at 5.9957 degrees south latitude and 148.6871 degrees east longitude. ■
